The weekend saw the meeting of two top four hopefuls in Manchester united and Liverpool. Following a run of bad form, the devils were looking to display some of their class while defending their home stadium. Liverpool was on a hot streak following their win over Athletic in their champion’s league matchup and was looking to maintain. Following their narrow comeback win over Atalanta in the Champion’s league, Manchester United’s defense has started looking shaky and despite being home, they were the underdogs in their matchup.
Liverpool vs Manchester City match highlight
Liverpool opened the scoring in the 5th minute with Nabi Keita and Diogo Jota following soon in the 13th minute to make the game 2-0 with less than twenty minutes played. What followed after was a display of class with Mohammed Salah scoring two goals before the halftime break with a stunning stoppage time goal. He would later complete his hat trick by scoring his third in the 50th minute with less than 5 minutes of the second half played.
Following their poor display and their run of bad form, questions are being asked at Old Trafford and fingers are being pointed at Ole Gunnar’s strategies. Liverpool remain 2nd in the table with only a point separating them and the leaders, Chelsea.
